The much anticipated Steven Spielberg movie Lincoln opens Nov 9 to considerable Oscar buzz.
The film focuses on the last few months of the president’s life, including his last trip to the Virginia front in March and April 1865. Lincoln spent more than two weeks at U.S. Grant’s headquarters at City Point (now Hopewell) and from there, he visited the Petersburg and Richmond just hours after they were occupied by Union troops.
