78th Annual Historic Garden Week in Virginia
America’s largest open house, now in its 78th year, takes place April 16 through April 23, 2011 – Historic Garden Week in Virginia!
Homes and gardens across the state will be open to the public. Visitors will get a unique opportunity to see unforgettable gardens and beautiful houses decked out with fabulous flower arrangements by local garden clubs. Proceeds of the tour support the Garden Club of Virginia’s efforts to restore and preserve the grounds of dozens of historic landmarks open to the public year round.
Perhaps the most exciting area to tour in the state is Richmond Virginia. Homeowners in the Hampton Gardens area of Richmond, off Cary Street Road will open their homes and gardens on Tuesday April 19th. On Wednesday April 20th, the tour moves to Monument Avenue and homes and gardens along that legendary boulevard will welcome visitors. Then again on Thursday, April 21, the Windsor Farms area of Richmond opens its doors and its gates. Schedule.
