Free Night for Veterans at The Historic Richmond Inns

On November 10, the Historic Richmond Inns will once again join together and participate in “B&Bs for Vets”, providing a free night for active and retired military personnel. The goal of the program is to honor our veterans and ensure that as many as possible wake up in the comfort and hospitality of a bed and breakfast on 11-11-11.

Active and retired military can make reservations for one free night at a B&B on Thursday, November 10, 2011. Complimentary stays are good for the vet and one guest. Although hundreds of inns nationwide are participating, Richmond innkeepers expect demand to be high, so reservations should be made as soon as possible. You can find participating inns and complete guidelines by visiting the A Better Way to Stay website. To make reservations, contact the inn of your choice directly.

Military visitors to the Richmond region may also enjoy additional benefits in thanks for their service. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is a year-round participant in Blue Star Museums, offering free admission to special exhibitions for active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and up to five members of their immediate families.  All Virginia State Parks will admit military personnel free through December 31, 2011. Additional discounts and free passes will be announced throughout the area as November draws closer.

The proprietors of the Historic Richmond Inns join innkeepers nationwide in expressing their sincere gratitude for the service and sacrifice made by every military member and family. Don’t delay – choose your perfect escape now and enjoy A Better Way to Stay.

The movement started in 2009 as a way to honor our military personnel and to celebrate Veteran’s Day. It’s our way to thank those men and women who selflessly serve in our armed forces.  To be eligible, you will have to show the innkeeper a valid military or Veteran’s Administration identification card.  Since the availability at each inn varies, check out the list of participating inns and contact the innkeeper directly. Advance reservations are a must and rooms are limited. So act today!

The premier bed and breakfasts in Richmond, the Historic Richmond Inns, are proud to participate in this endeavor. Can’t get away on November 10? No, problem – many of us offer special military discounts.
