The Historic Richmond Inns are once again fighting hunger in Richmond by contributing to the Zest Fest 2012 auction event in support of FeedMore, the umbrella organization of the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Serving Central Virginia, and The Community Kitchen.

The innkeepers, in conjunction with James Limousine Service, Inc., have outdone themselves this year in putting together a dream package for the auction. 8 adult guests will enjoy a 4-course progressive dinner with wine and transportation, followed by an overnight stay in 4 guest rooms, inclusive of a gourmet breakfast. The value of the package is $4800!

At your first stop at one of Richmond’s Premier Bed and Breakfast Inns, you and your guests will whet your appetite with hors d’oeuvres and wine chosen for you by your host innkeeper. While you visit the Inn and learn its history, we’ll take keepsake photographs of each couple.

Luxury transportation, complete with roses for the ladies, will whisk you away to the next Inn, where you’ll be treated to soup and salad along with wine and another historic residence to explore. Your next two stops will feature your entrée, dessert and more stunning architecture.

At the end of dinner, guests will retire to their four rooms, which may be at different inns. In the morning, all will enjoy a delicious gourmet meal – the second “B” in Bed & Breakfast!

After a luxurious night’s rest, your limousine will await to return you to the beginning of It all. You’ll find swag bags with remembrances from all of the Inns. You and your guests are certain to keep this magical experience as a treasured memory for years to come!

The Historic Richmond Inns

Historic Richmond Inns, six historic bed and breakfast inns in Richmond Virginia, is proud to support FeedMore, the Central Virginia FoodBank, the Community Kitchen, and Meals on Wheels through their Zest Fest 2011 auction.  Historic Richmond Inns have donated the chance of a lifetime for eight adults to delight in the most special event as part of FeedMore’s fund-raising auction on February 19, 2011.

Four couples will be treated to a progressive dinner including courses for hors d’oeuvres, salad and soup, entree, and dessert.  Each course will be accompanied by wine pairings chosen by the host innkeepers. Also included are local transportation, overnight accommodations, and breakfast.  The total package is a unique event that is sure to be a smash hit!

Our transportation will whisk the successful bidder and guests away from a designated meeting place to the first of several stops at one of Richmond’s premier bed and breakfast inns.  At the first stop, the winner and guests will whet their appetite with hors d’oeuvres and wine of the host innkeeper’s choosing.  Of course there’s also the opportunity to visit the inn and learn its history.

Then – the chauffeur awaits!  Off the winning party goes to the next inn, where they’ll be treated to soup and salad along with wine and another historic residence to explore.

But the evening is still young!  Back into the chariot for a short excursion to the next inn, where the entree course awaits.  The winning bidder and party will be treated to culinary delights beyond anything expected!

Another stop is on the agenda and the menu is dessert! The winning bidder’s party will wind down the evening over a dessert that’s to die for!

But the experience is not over yet!  Depending on availability, the winner’s party may split up among the inns, but there will be four guest rooms available for an overnight stay – along with breakfast in the morning.  After all, breakfast is the biggest part of our name: bed and breakfast.

Our transportation will get you back to the meeting place to retrieve your vehicle and leave this magical experience, surely to become a treasured memory.

To recap: this is an all-inclusive four course progressive dinner for 8 adults/4 couples with wine, followed by an overnight stay in 4 unique guest rooms with breakfast the next morning.

More importantly, the winner will be supporting FeedMore, the umbrella organization for the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and the Community Kitchen, to fight hunger in central Virginia by serving the most vulnerable: children who need a nutritional foundation to grow and learn; families struggling to provide for themselves, and seniors who need food and services to be healthy and independent. What a fantastic event filled with gourmet food, divine wine and lots of giving at the Annual Zest Fest 2010! Meals on Wheels, together with Virginia Food Bank, hosted a fabulous event in the Grand Ballroom at the Richmond Convention Center with all monies raised going toward feeding families in need… right in our own backyard. Top Richmond Chefs from A Sharper Palate, Six Burner and Lulu’s, along with many others, were on hand to donate their time and culinary expertise for a tremendously worthy cause. Silent auctions were held for getaways, beauty treatments ,  sporting events and the like. Even an all expense paid trip for 2 to Paris went to a very lucky bidder! Wine tasting local Virginia wines topped off the evening and flowed beautifully with the lively band and talented vocalists. Generosity was the theme of the night and a definite “must attend” for next year!
